As a Bell Attendant at Sanctuary Lodge, a Belmond Hotel, Machu Picchu, the role welcomes and assists arriving guests in line with LQA standards, creating a warm, efficient and personalised first impression. Responsibilities include guest arrival and luggage services, responding to enquiries and requests, and maintaining related equipment and support areas. The schedule is 14 days on and 7 days off.
Role & Responsibilities
- Request guests’ passports upon hotel arrival, following established procedures.
- Welcome guests with refreshing towels and welcome drinks in accordance with LQA standards.
- Escort guests to their rooms and assist them on arrival with courteous, professional service.
- Receive, distribute, collect, record and store guests’ luggage, ensuring its proper handling and control.
- Respond to guest enquiries about local attractions, hotel services and needs during their stay.
- Manage and deliver requested items to guest rooms, recording incidents in the occurrence log.
- Distribute and place magazines, newspapers and other materials in the lobby, reception area and guest rooms as appropriate.
- Purchase special items requested by guests when necessary.
- Collect items requested by the reception department from the storeroom to support operational continuity.
- Maintain equipment and support areas in good condition, including cleaning welcome-drink glasses, polishing the golf cart and reporting maintenance faults in reception and lobby areas.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in similar positions in the hotel or tourism industry.
- Intermediate English proficiency.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
- Service orientation and attention to detail to provide guests with personalised, empathetic and courteous service to a high standard.
- Ability to communicate clearly and assertively, supporting a smooth and welcoming guest experience from the first interaction.
- Ability to make quick decisions, resolve problems or unforeseen situations with sound judgement and creativity, and handle conflict appropriately.
- Organisation and accountability in handling, recording and distributing luggage and responding to special requests.
