The Bartender at Hiram Bingham, a Belmond Train, in Cusco prepares and serves beverages, creates tailored cocktails, recommends drinks and promotes specials while delivering attentive guest service and complying with alcohol-service regulations. The role requires at least one year of beverage experience and intermediate-to-advanced English. A 4x3 work schedule is offered.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide range of beverages, demonstrating strong knowledge of cocktails, drinks and food.
- Provide excellent guest service by engaging with guests, answering questions, and making them feel welcome and comfortable.
- Recommend drinks by demonstrating in-depth knowledge of the beverage menu, ingredient combinations, flavors and presentation.
- Mix and garnish beverages to meet guest preferences and hotel standards.
- Promote featured drinks, specials and promotions to guests.
- Enforce legal regulations for serving alcoholic beverages, including checking identification to verify age and refusing service to intoxicated individuals.
Qualifications
- At least one year of demonstrated experience handling and creating beverages.
- Intermediate to advanced English proficiency to share stories about the properties and explain drinks on the menu.
- Strong knowledge of mixology, cocktail recipes, and different types of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Ability to engage with guests, understand their preferences, make recommendations and deliver a positive experience.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements, proper presentation and adherence to recipes.
