Splendido Mare, A Belmond Hotel, seeks a Barback to join the DaV Mare Restaurant team in Portofino. The role supports bar operations and service, prepares the mise en place, maintains work areas and equipment, and helps deliver seamless guest experiences. This seasonal role runs from October 2026 to January 2027, under the C.C.N.L. Settore Turismo, Level 5 (Commis de Bar).
Role & Responsibilities
- Carry out bar operations in accordance with company policies, high standards and procedures.
- Support the Bartender with service.
- Prepare the mise en place.
- Clean and set up work areas and equipment.
- Monitor the guest experience, from the restaurant layout before guests arrive through the service they receive.
- Help deliver seamless service and anticipate guests’ needs.
Qualifications
- Communicate clearly and appropriately, both verbally and non-verbally.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to guests’ and colleagues’ needs and emotions, adapt communication style accordingly, and manage emotions in challenging situations.
- Recognize when a different approach is needed, offer solutions, and adopt new ways of working.
- Collaborate as a team player, share information and skills, and actively seek and provide feedback.
- Fluent Italian and basic English.
- A degree in Tourism or Hospitality is preferred.
- Previous professional experience in a similar role, including school internships.
