Belmond is recruiting an Assistant Financial Controller to work on property at multiple locations in Italy, with possible temporary relocation across Southern Europe, including Italy, Spain, and Portugal. The role oversees accounting operations, supports financial control, reporting, budgeting, and audits, and supervises accounting staff. The position offers a permanent contract under C.C.N.L. Settore Turismo, Level II.
Role & Responsibilities
- Oversees Accounting department activities to ensure optimal efficiency and performance.
- Represents the Financial Controller in their absence.
- Assists the Financial Controller with budgeting and forecasting.
- Directs and supervises Accounting department employees, including income auditors and accountants.
- Assists the Financial Controller in implementing policies, rules, internal controls, and safeguards that support profitability and operational control; liaises with internal and external auditors.
- Coordinates month-end closing, prepares required journal entries, reviews financial statements analytically, and explains variances from budget.
- Assists the Financial Controller with financial reporting to Corporate Headquarters.
- Coordinates annual internal and external audit processes.
- Monitors departmental internal controls and creates and implements operating procedures as needed.
- Coordinates balance-sheet reconciliations.
- Delegates accounting tasks to junior accounting staff.
- Identifies solutions to discrepancies in financial records.
- Contributes to team efforts by completing related tasks as needed.
