The Assistant Financial Controller supports the Financial Controller with financial operations at Grand Hotel Timeo and Villa Sant’Andrea, including reporting, budgeting, controls, and regulatory compliance. The role is based in Taormina; no contract terms are stated.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist the Financial Controller with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support budget management and forecasting, analyze variances, and provide recommendations.
- Oversee the accuracy of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
- Collaborate on general ledger management and ensure financial transactions are recorded correctly.
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing procedures, including account reconciliations and balance sheet analysis.
- Assist with implementing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard hotel assets.
- Prepare financial analyses and support other departments in strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and local and international regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in a financial role, preferably in luxury hospitality.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial control procedures.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and familiarity with financial management systems (PMS/ERP).
- Fluent in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
- Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to handle confidential information with utmost discretion.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
