Belmond seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer for its Portofino hotel cluster, supporting the Chief Engineer and maintenance team across Splendido, Splendido Mare and Villa Beatrice. The role covers facilities operations, inspections, preventive maintenance, recordkeeping, safety, interdepartmental coordination and sustainability initiatives. This is an annual employment contract under C.C.N.L. Settore Turismo, Level 3, starting in June 2026.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist the Chief Engineer with daily operations and maintenance tasks.
- Inspect equipment and systems regularly to ensure they function correctly and efficiently.
- Help implement preventive maintenance programmes.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve maintenance issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Support the department’s administrative practices in line with policies and procedures.
- Assist with sustainability projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
- Basic project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute and evaluate sustainability initiatives.
- Ability to collaborate across functions and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts and influence decision-making.

Experience
At least 2 years, preferably in the hospitality or tourism industry.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; a Master’s degree is preferred.
