About Balmain

Balmain is seeking a 3D Design Assistant to support preparation and production of 3D collection models, providing technical and creative assistance to ensure quality volumes and deadlines. The six-month full-time internship is due to start in January or February 2027.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist with draping and flat pattern cutting, researching garment construction and developing finishes under the stylists’ supervision.
- Interpret design projects by analysing sketches and inspiration images to understand the intended volume, proportions and materials.
- Work with the design, patternmaking, industrialisation and workshop teams to ensure project consistency.
- Support fittings and model adjustments, perform simple alterations and prepare components for approval.
- Keep informed about digital tools and new construction techniques.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a fashion school, specialising in fashion design and patternmaking, with at least two years of higher education (Bac+2).
- A first experience in 3D modelling in fashion would be ideal.
- Knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Aesthetic sensibility, autonomy, flexibility, rigour and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of draping, flat pattern cutting and garment construction techniques; particular interest in draping.
- Fluent French and English.
- A portfolio must be included with the application.
