Balenciaga seeks a Store Director for its Selfridges London boutique to lead operations, sales and client programmes for the flagship store.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead all commercial, operational and people aspects of the Balenciaga boutique at Selfridges to achieve and exceed sales and profitability targets.
  • Own P&L responsibility: control margin, payroll, stock turn and expense management in line with corporate objectives.
  • Recruit, develop and coach a high‑performing team of sales, client services and operations staff; set performance objectives and conduct regular reviews.
  • Deliver exceptional clienteling and VIP hospitality programmes, driving retention and lifetime value of high‑net‑worth customers.
  • Ensure flawless store standards across visual merchandising, presentation, product flow and brand compliance in collaboration with the Visual and Merchandising teams.
  • Manage inventory, replenishment and stock integrity; coordinate deliveries, stock audits and loss prevention measures.
  • Plan and execute in‑store events, launches and private appointments that reinforce brand positioning and drive footfall.
  • Act as the primary liaison with Selfridges store management, regional corporate teams and creative partners; produce timely reporting and market feedback.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in luxury retail, with prior responsibility for a flagship or high‑traffic boutique.
  • Demonstrable commercial track record delivering sales growth, margin improvement and P&L management.
  • Strong people management skills, including recruitment, talent development and performance management.
  • Deep understanding of luxury client behaviour, clienteling techniques and VIP service standards.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise in a fast‑paced retail environment.

Experience

At least five years of progressive experience in luxury retail, including a minimum of three years in a senior management role within a flagship or high‑volume boutique environment, with proven responsibility for commercial and operational outcomes.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, Fashion or equivalent professional experience preferred.
