Balenciaga in Paris seeks a Senior RTW Collection Merchandiser to lead collection strategy, development and cross‑functional execution.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define and articulate the RTW collection strategy aligning brand DNA with market trends, price architecture, volumes and margin objectives.
- Own the end-to-end collection plan for global RTW lines, ensuring balanced assortment across categories and follow-up on development milestones.
- Collaborate closely with creative teams to reconcile artistic vision with commercial potential and market expectations.
- Conduct continuous strategic analysis of luxury trends, customer behaviour and competitor activity to inform product direction.
- Analyze historical collection performance (sales, sell-through, margins) to identify opportunities and corrective actions.
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders — coordination, development, production, retail and wholesale — to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Participate actively in key product stages including showrooms and collection presentations to validate assortment and positioning.
- Supervise and mentor junior merchandising staff, delegating responsibilities and developing team capabilities.
- Implement and refine tools and processes for improved data analysis and decision-making; prepare strategic reports with actionable insights.
Qualifications
- Proven track record as a merchandising specialist within luxury fashion, ideally in ready-to-wear collections.
- Demonstrable product sensitivity with strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.
- Experience managing multi-stage product development projects and coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Fluent in English and French; proficiency in Italian is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with PLM systems and Adobe InDesign is strongly desirable.
- Proven people management experience, with ability to mentor junior colleagues and influence strategic decisions.

Experience
Five or more years of merchandising experience in the luxury fashion sector, with demonstrable involvement in ready-to-wear collection development, assortment planning, and cross-functional project leadership; prior experience supervising junior team members is expected.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Fashion, Merchandising, Business, or a related discipline; advanced degree or specialised training in fashion business is advantageous.
