Balenciaga Senior Planner in Hong Kong; oversee merchandise planning, inventory control, and demand forecasting across Asia-Pacific locations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Direct merchandise management and inventory control across all channels in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, ensuring alignment with sales targets and demand planning objectives
- Execute distribution and supply chain initiatives in partnership with headquarters supply chain teams, including allocation planning and rolling forecast management
- Conduct weekly shipment and delivery tracking for new merchandise arrivals to optimize in-store availability
- Monitor inventory levels across cross-dock and outlet locations, developing and implementing corrective action plans to maintain optimal stock positioning
- Serve as inventory control subject matter expert, assessing merchandise lifecycle and stock sustainability based on sales trends and forecasts
- Manage routine inventory allocation of carryover, permanent, and share-style merchandise to retail locations
- Execute weekly business performance reviews at detailed quantity and value levels to identify sales and profit opportunities
- Leverage information systems such as JDA and RDM to generate analytical insights supporting margin optimization and demand forecasting
- Produce standard weekly and monthly merchandise management reports; fulfill ad hoc analytical requests from stakeholders
- Collaborate with merchandising and finance teams to develop pre-season Open-To-Buy and sales plans that inform seasonal buying strategies
- Participate in rolling forecast and budget planning cycles with retail and finance functions
Qualifications
- Degree in Economics, Finance/Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or Fashion
- Minimum 3 years of planning experience in retail or fashion
- Demonstrated expertise in retail inventory and financial key performance indicators including sell-through, weeks of supply, inventory turnover, markdowns, markups, and Open-To-Buy
- Exceptional detail orientation and numerical accuracy
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PC-based business applications
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Mandarin Chinese
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years of planning experience, preferably within retail or fashion. Prior experience in accounting functions or inventory control in the retail/fashion sector is advantageous.
Education
Degree in Economics, Finance/Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or Fashion.
