Role & Responsibilities
- Execute leather cutting operations in accordance with technical parameter sheets and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain cutting equipment (including Comelz machines and press/die cutters - 'trancia'), ensuring safe and efficient throughput.
- Monitor and control material consumption; promptly report any overconsumption or variances to the Team Leader.
- Inspect cut components for dimensional accuracy, defects and compliance; document and escalate process or quality non‑conformities.
- Share best practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the production team.
- Maintain a clean, organised workstation and adhere to workplace safety and housekeeping procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum three years' hands‑on experience in leather or footwear cutting within structured production environments.
- Proven knowledge of leather types, characteristics and typical defects.
- Practical experience with cutting techniques, including Comelz systems and trancia (die/press) cutting; familiarity with fabric cutting and reinforcements is a plus.
- Ability to read technical parameter sheets and execute work with high precision and consistency.
- Strong problem‑solving aptitude, reliability and flexibility to meet production requirements.
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
Skills
Experience
At least three years of practical experience in a similar leather or footwear cutting role, preferably gained in a medium‑to‑large manufacturing environment.
Education
Vocational or technical diploma in leather goods, shoemaking, manufacturing technology or a related field; formal apprenticeship or equivalent on‑the‑job training valued.
