Balenciaga seeks a General Accountant in Paris to manage accounting operations, tax filings, and financial closings within the Financial Direction.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Maintain general ledger accounting through the preparation of annual financial statements
  • Review, record, and validate routine accounting transactions
  • Prepare inventory adjustments including provisions, depreciation, accruals, and deferred income recognition
  • Execute account reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Track fixed assets and manage depreciation schedules
  • Ensure quality and compliance of all accounting data
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
  • Verify the accuracy of intercompany accounts through reconciliation procedures at each closing
  • Execute payroll-related accounting controls at each close, including review of salaries, social charges, provisions, and third-party social accounts
  • Prepare audit files and supporting documentation for external auditors and statutory auditors
  • Prepare and file periodic tax declarations including VAT (CA3, CA12), DEB and VAT recapitulative statements, CVAE, CFE, DAS2, and other local or sectoral taxes
  • Verify consistency between tax and accounting bases and conduct VAT reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with tax requirements and reconciliation procedures
  • Contribute to the preparation of the tax file and annual declarations
  • Monitor regulatory changes affecting tax obligations
  • Participate in the improvement of accounting and tax processes
  • Manage communications with tax authorities and external auditors

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (Bac +3) in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation
  • DCG (Diplôme de Comptabilité et de Gestion) or DSCG (Diplôme Supérieur de Comptabilité et de Gestion) or equivalent qualification preferred
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in general accounting
  • Proficiency in general accounting and French taxation
  • Expertise in VAT and other tax filing obligations
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Power BI preferred)
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP
  • Experience in an international environment or accounting firm valued
  • Rigorous, well-organized, and capable of effectively managing priorities within established deadlines
  • Autonomous and reliable with demonstrated commitment to work quality
  • Strong analytical and synthesizing capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills

Experience
