Balenciaga seeks an experienced Department Manager for its Selfridges boutique in London, leading team operations, client relationships, and business development.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor action plans defined by headquarters and store management, ensuring consistent execution and accountability
  • Analyse business results using corporate reports and establish quantitative and qualitative performance goals for departmental teams
  • Communicate high-quality feedback and business insights to Associate Store Director, Store Director, and store leadership
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with Inventory and Buying partners, proactively communicating departmental requirements
  • Monitor competitive landscape and local market conditions to inform strategic decisions
  • Cultivate a positive work environment aligned with Balenciaga brand behaviours and foster strong team cohesion
  • Partner with Recruitment and HR to identify, attract, recruit, develop, and retain talent
  • Motivate and challenge teams to achieve business targets whilst maintaining high job satisfaction
  • Serve as a Balenciaga Ambassador, promoting brand culture internally and externally
  • Ensure consistent execution of Balenciaga Signature client experience standards
  • Manage client relationships from entry-level through VVIC segments, driving recruitment, development, and retention
  • Ensure all processes comply with legal, safety, security, sustainability, and HR guidelines
  • Execute weekly and monthly team planning and communicate schedules to Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager
  • Monitor and optimise key performance indicators including sales density, conversion rate, units per transaction, cross-selling rate, team productivity, training completion, client retention, and omnichannel metrics

Qualifications

  • Proven line management experience in a luxury retail environment
  • Significant track record in luxury industry with established high-value client relationships and clientelling expertise
  • Strong product knowledge and sensitivity with demonstrated understanding of fashion trends and cultural awareness
  • Exceptional organisational skills with demonstrated ability to manage and prioritise high-volume workloads
  • Meticulous attention to detail with outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong digital literacy and proficiency with retail technology platforms
