Balenciaga is hiring a Department Manager in Kuala Lumpur to lead sales, clienteling and team development at the Pavilion store.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead day‑to‑day departmental operations to achieve quantitative sales targets and qualitative client experience standards set by the Store and Associate Store Director.
- Instil and operationalise a clienteling mindset across the team, translating client data and insights into personalised service and retention strategies.
- Implement action plans defined with the Store Director and ensure consistent follow‑up and measurement of results.
- Coach, mentor and develop store team members through regular feedback, training and performance management to optimise individual strengths.
- Act as brand ambassador on the salesfloor, modelling Balenciaga behaviours and ensuring consistent execution of the House’s client experience.
- Communicate high‑quality, relevant feedback and serve as an operational bridge between the Store Director and store staff.
- Ensure full compliance with legal, safety, HR, sustainability and stock control procedures and internal store processes.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of selling and successfully managing retail sales teams, preferably within a luxury or premium brand environment.
- Inclusive leadership style with excellent organisational and people‑development capabilities.
- Adaptable, persuasive and proactively inclined; comfortable taking calculated risks to drive commercial performance.
- High sensitivity to client experience and loyalty creation, with a client‑centric commercial mindset.
- Strong command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
- Proficient PC skills, specifically MS Office and other digital sales/support tools.
Skills
Experience
Proven experience in luxury retail sales and frontline people management with responsibility for delivering commercial targets and developing teams. Previous experience in a department managerial or assistant store managerial role is strongly preferred.
Education
High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in business, retail management, fashion or a related discipline preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
