Balenciaga seeks a skilled Cutter (M/F) for its Paris production facilities to oversee cutting operations across five workshops, ensuring precision and quality in luxury garment production.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Prepare fabrics prior to cutting operations, including unrolling, flattening, and interlining; perform decatizing as required
  • Execute cutting operations across diverse fabric types including fluid materials, leather, embroidery, pleated, technical, and wool fabrics
  • Respect pattern markings, grain line, and fabric direction during cutting; consider motif placement for pattern matching and optimize layout to minimize waste
  • Conduct quality control by identifying and reporting anomalies on fabrics or cut pieces; verify compliance of cut pieces with specifications
  • Control assembly markers and markings; calculate yardage as needed
  • Sort, count, and label cut pieces; prepare production batches for distribution across multiple workshops
  • Perform thermal testing as required; maintain organized storage of materials and components
  • Facilitate information flow and coordination between workshop teams

  • Technical expertise in textile knowledge, including grain line, elasticity, and pattern direction
  • Demonstrated autonomy, rigor, and strong organizational abilities
  • Strict adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and internal procedures
