Balenciaga seeks an experienced Accountant in Paris to manage general ledger, tax compliance, and financial close processes.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger accounting through to the preparation and verification of annual financial statements
- Control and record routine accounting transactions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and subsidiary ledger maintenance
- Perform inventory adjustment entries (FNP), cost of goods adjustments (CCA), provisions, depreciation, accrued expenses, and accrued revenue
- Conduct account reconciliations and detailed account analysis to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Monitor fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and capitalize or expense items in accordance with accounting standards
- Ensure data quality and compliance of all accounting records and supporting documentation
- Participate actively in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close procedures
- Guarantee the reliability of intercompany accounts by performing reconciliations at each closing period
- Execute accounting controls related to payroll at each close, including review of wages, social contributions, provisions, and third-party social accounts
- Prepare audit files and supporting documentation for external auditors and statutory auditors
- Prepare and file periodic tax declarations: VAT (CA3, CA12), Intrastat (DEB) and VAT summary returns, CVAE, CFE, DAS2, and other local or sectoral taxes
- Verify the consistency of fiscal and accounting bases
- Perform VAT reconciliations and compliance controls
- Participate in the preparation of tax schedules and annual tax filings
- Monitor regulatory changes and maintain awareness of evolving tax requirements
- Participate in improving accounting and tax processes
- Track and respond to requests from tax authorities and external auditors
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (Bac+3) in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation
- DCG (Diplôme de Comptabilité et de Gestion) or DSCG (Diplôme Supérieur de Comptabilité et de Gestion) or equivalent qualification preferred
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in general accounting
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Power BI preferred)
- Knowledge of an ERP system (SAP preferred)
- Expert-level knowledge of French general accounting principles and tax regulations
- Demonstrated experience preparing VAT declarations and managing other tax obligations
- Strong analytical and synthesis capabilities
- Proven ability to prioritize effectively and meet strict deadlines
