Aveda Machinist
Machinist at Aveda (Estée Lauder Companies) in Blaine, Minnesota—design and fabricate precision parts using CAD/CAM and CNC equipment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Execute end-to-end design and fabrication of parts and components using CAD/CAM software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or Mastercam
- Set up and operate manual and CNC machining equipment including mills, lathes, drill presses, and Hurco CNC systems
- Design and produce precision parts to exacting specifications and tolerances
- Create component drawings and send specifications to third-party machining providers as required
- Perform welding and cutting operations to support production and equipment modifications
- Fabricate and modify equipment, guards, and fixtures to meet operational needs
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement corrective solutions
- Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams on equipment improvements and installations
- Support equipment startups, installations, and modifications
- Document all work activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Participate in continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
Qualifications
- Technical degree or apprenticeship in machining or related field, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience
- Demonstrated ability to design and machine parts end-to-end
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Mastercam, or equivalent
- Hands-on experience operating both manual and CNC machining equipment
- Proven experience in welding and general fabrication techniques
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is preferred

Education
