Aveda seeks a Global Manager, Mission & Sustainability to lead certifications, philanthropy, and environmental impact in Blaine, MN (hybrid). Base salary $78,800–$120,900 annually.
Role & Responsibilities
- Research and identify leading-edge sustainability and social impact opportunities; develop tools, training, and resources to build sustainability knowledge across marketing, sourcing, and broader organizational teams
- Maintain Aveda's certifications and standards program; serve as point of contact and program manager; monitor evolving global sustainability regulations and industry standards to assess risk and guide compliant, future-ready approaches
- Drive partnerships and community relationships; serve as point of contact for Aveda nonprofit partners worldwide; manage storytelling opportunities and activate Aveda's artist and salon community, including oversight of the global 30+ year Earth Month initiative
- Collaborate with Aveda marketing teams to develop robust, mission-driven brand stories around vegan, plant-powered, high-performance products; support development of sourcing stories and substantiate sustainability and sourcing claims
- Manage Aveda's global philanthropic grant program, including administering the grant process, conducting due diligence, and working with Aveda and Estée Lauder's donor-advised fund
- Serve as organizational resource on sustainability and social issues; track and monitor program impacts and results
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- 5+ years of experience in sustainability, corporate social responsibility, environmental impact, philanthropy, or community partnerships
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Excellent communication, presentation, cross-functional collaboration, and relationship-building skills
- Project coordination and event management experience in multi-stakeholder environments
- Authentic alignment with Aveda's mission and values

Experience
5+ years of professional experience in sustainability, corporate social responsibility, environmental impact, philanthropy, or community partnerships roles, ideally within the beauty, consumer goods, or luxury goods sectors.
Education
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as environmental science, sustainability, nonprofit management, business, public policy, or related discipline.
