As a highly skilled makeup artist, this part-time position combines creative and technical expertise with a passion for customer engagement to deliver welcoming, inspirational, and personalized in-store experiences that educate and delight customers at an Aveda point of sale. The role encompasses makeup artistry, point-of-sale operations, and collaborative teamwork to execute in-store events and maintain elevated visual merchandising standards. While makeup artistry certification and prior retail experience are preferred, candidates with amateur-level expertise and strong creative technical skills are also welcome to apply.

Role & Responsibilities

• Provide personalized, inspirational makeup artistry consultations and demonstrations to customers
• Execute makeup applications and color consultations with technical expertise and creative flair
• Operate retail point-of-sale software and process customer transactions
• Collaborate with in-store team to conceptualize and execute events and promotional activations
• Maintain visual merchandising standards and product displays to differentiate the brand
• Work flexible retail hours including evenings, weekends, and special events in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to deliver inspirational, authentic, and personalized customer service
• Creative and technical makeup artistry expertise (formal qualification preferred but not required; amateur-level experience acceptable)
• Ability to work retail hours including days, evenings, weekends, and special events
• Prior experience with retail point-of-sale software
• Legal authorization to work in the United States

Skills

Experience

While certification in makeup artistry and prior retail makeup experience is desirable, the company welcomes applicants with amateur-level experience who demonstrate high levels of creative and technical expertise and a passion for customer engagement.

Education

Makeup artistry certification preferred but not required.

Compensation

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 18.36 to USD 30.60 per hour.
