Confidential Swiss watch manufacture in Le Brassus seeks a Senior Watch Assembler. R&D-focused role in precision horology.

Overview

Role & Responsibilities

  • Assemble, adjust and regulate mechanical movements and prototype assemblies to R&D and production specifications.
  • Perform precision adjustments (escapement, balance, timing) and execute fine finishing and component fitting under microscope.
  • Execute functional and timing tests, document results and contribute to failure analysis and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D engineers, prototypers and quality teams to transfer designs from development to serial production.
  • Prepare technical reports, update assembly instructions and maintain traceability of components and processes.
  • Maintain bench tools, microscopes and measuring instruments; ensure a disciplined, clean and compliant workspace.
  • Coach and mentor junior assemblers; share best practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Formal watchmaking qualification (CFC/Federal VET, WOSTEP or equivalent) or proven vocational experience in precision assembly.
  • Proven competence in mechanical movement assembly, regulation and micro-adjustment techniques.
  • Excellent manual dexterity, steady hand and acute visual acuity for microscopic work.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and assembly instructions.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments (micrometer, caliper), stereo microscopes and timing machines.
  • Strong attention to detail, methodical documentation skills and adherence to quality protocols.
  • Working knowledge of French or English is advantageous.

Experience

Mid-senior level watchmaking experience — typically 3–5+ years assembling and regulating mechanical movements, with demonstrable exposure to complex calibres and prototype builds.

Education

Watchmaking diploma (CFC or equivalent) or WOSTEP certification preferred; equivalent vocational experience accepted.
