Role & Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary finance contact for the Australian business, supporting local operations in collaboration with regional teams
  • Manage the full spectrum of accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, fixed assets, and employee expense claims
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
  • Perform account reconciliations and maintain the integrity of financial records, ledgers, and supporting documentation
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare financial reports, cash flow forecasts, reporting packages, and variance analyses per local and Group requirements
  • Support inventory reconciliations, stock reporting, and investigation of discrepancies
  • Contribute to management reporting and provide financial insights to support business decision-making
  • Coordinate tax and statutory compliance activities, including GST/BAS reporting, corporate tax requirements, and audit deliverables
  • Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and corporate service providers
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and Group reporting requirements
  • Maintain and strengthen internal control frameworks across finance and administrative processes
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to enhanced finance operations, controls, and reporting accuracy
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure appropriate follow-up on audit recommendations
  • Coordinate legal, corporate governance, and administrative matters, including corporate records, licenses, insurance policies, and statutory registrations
  • Support vendor management, office administration, and back-office operations for smooth boutique and business operations
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support business growth and operational excellence

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably within a multinational environment
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal controls
  • Solid experience managing full sets of accounts, month-end closing, and financial reporting activities
  • Good understanding of Australian statutory, tax, and corporate compliance requirements
  • Experience liaising with auditors, tax advisors, banks, and external stakeholders
  • Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with capability to operate independently in a lean organization
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high accuracy in a fast-paced environment

Experience

Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, preferably within a multinational organization. Experience in retail, luxury, or consumer-facing industries is advantageous. Prior experience within an audit firm is a plus. Demonstrated expertise in full sets of accounts management, month-end closing, and financial reporting activities. Exposure to Group reporting within a multinational structure is preferred, as is experience in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, or forecasting.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional accounting qualification (Chartered Accountant, CPA, or equivalent) is preferred.
