Role & Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the master production schedule (MPS) to ensure on-time delivery of finished goods while optimising capacity and inventory levels.
  • Translate demand forecasts and sales plans into detailed production plans, balancing material availability, workforce capacity and equipment constraints.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with manufacturing, procurement, quality, engineering and logistics to resolve bottlenecks and align priorities.
  • Monitor planning KPIs (OTD, inventory turns, lead times, schedule adherence); prepare and present performance reports and improvement actions.
  • Manage short-term expediting and re-prioritisation to mitigate supply disruptions and meet urgent client or production requirements.
  • Maintain accurate bills of materials and routings in planning systems; raise and follow up on purchase orders and production orders as required.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning processes, including demand-smoothing, lead-time reduction and waste elimination.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, logistics, operations management or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrable proficiency with production planning methodologies (MPS, MRP) and capacity planning techniques.
  • Proven analytical ability with comfort handling data, KPIs and performance reporting.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience coordinating across manufacturing and commercial functions.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., APICS/CPIM) are an advantage.
