Role & Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain corporate and boutique IT infrastructure including servers, virtualization, storage, networks and on-premise/cloud services.
- Provide timely 2nd/3rd-line technical support for end users, POS systems, mobile devices and retail-specific applications across Tokyo boutiques and corporate offices.
- Manage network connectivity (LAN/WAN), VPNs and secure remote access for stores and mobile teams, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Implement and maintain identity and access management including Active Directory, group policies and single sign-on solutions.
- Lead or contribute to IT projects such as POS upgrades, ERP/CRM integrations, software deployments and infrastructure refreshes.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for hardware, software, maintenance and escalation management.
- Maintain IT documentation, runbooks and SOPs; perform backups, restores and regular patching to meet security and compliance requirements.
- Monitor system health, investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis and drive continuous improvement to reduce recurring issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven track record (typically 3+ years) in systems or network administration, technical support or infrastructure engineering.
- Demonstrable experience supporting retail IT environments (POS, store networking, retail applications) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with IT security best practices and regulatory requirements applicable in Japan (e.g., APPI awareness).
- Strong vendor management and project coordination skills; ability to prioritise incidents and manage multiple stakeholders.
