Confidential luxury company seeks an Accounting Manager in Raleigh, NC to lead month‑end close, reporting and controls for its finance team.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver month‑end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis for assigned entities.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP; ensure timely and accurate reporting to corporate finance.
- Manage a small accounting team: assign work, coach staff, conduct performance reviews and develop training plans.
- Own balance sheet integrity and drive account reconciliation cadence, clearing aged reconciling items and investigating anomalies.
- Support external and internal audits by preparing schedules, responding to auditor requests and maintaining SOX‑ready controls.
- Collaborate with FP&A to support forecasting, budgeting and monthly management reporting; deliver ad hoc financial analyses for business partners.
- Partner with ERP and IT teams on system configurations, upgrades and process improvements to streamline accounting workflows.
- Implement and maintain internal controls and process documentation to reduce risk and improve efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
- Demonstrable knowledge of US GAAP and experience supporting external audits and SOX compliance.
- Proven people management experience with strong coaching and development skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and hands‑on experience with at least one corporate ERP (e.g., Oracle NetSuite or SAP).
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to communicate financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.

Mid‑senior level accounting professional with typically 5+ years of progressive accounting experience and at least 2 years in a supervisory or team‑lead role. Experience in a multi‑entity, retail or consumer goods environment and exposure to ERP implementations and SOX frameworks is preferred.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline; CPA or equivalent professional credential preferred.
