Janu Tokyo seeks an experienced and passionate spa therapist to deliver exceptional wellness treatments within the hotel's 4,000 sqm wellness centre located in the Azabudai Hills precinct. The role encompasses providing a comprehensive range of massage, body treatments and wellness services while cultivating personalized guest experiences through warm, intuitive service delivery. The therapist will maintain pristine treatment environments, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with spa and hotel teams to support seamless daily operations within this contemporary luxury setting.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver a comprehensive range of treatments and therapies in accordance with Janu standards, including massage, body treatments and wellness services
- Provide warm, intuitive and personalised service that enhances the guest experience and wellness journey
- Engage with guests to understand preferences and wellness needs while providing thoughtful recommendations
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms with meticulous attention to spa mise-en-place, cleanliness and organisation
- Ensure proper storage, preparation and handling of treatment products, linens and equipment in compliance with safety protocols
- Maintain adherence to safety, hygiene and wellness service regulations throughout all operations
- Collaborate with spa teams and other hotel departments to facilitate seamless operational workflows
- Contribute to the development of seasonal wellness offerings and elevated treatment experiences
- Address guest inquiries, feedback and special requests with professionalism and discretion
- Provide training and mentorship to junior therapists or spa support staff as required
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience as a therapist or equivalent role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Conversational-level English proficiency (CEFR A2 or higher)
- Advanced business-level Japanese proficiency (CEFR C1 or higher)
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as a therapist or in a related wellness role, preferably within a luxury hospitality environment. Experience in personalized guest service delivery and spa operations management is essential.
Education
Vocational qualification or certification in massage therapy, spa therapy, or equivalent wellness discipline required. Ongoing professional development and advanced certifications in specialized treatment modalities are valued.
