The Fitness Instructor delivers personalized training and wellness sessions at Amanoi, assesses guest needs, supports daily Spa operations, and promotes wellness offerings while maintaining Aman service standards. The role also coordinates weekly activity schedules, maintains facilities and operational records, and contributes to guest satisfaction and revenue generation.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized fitness and wellness sessions, including Functional Training, Strength & Conditioning, HIIT, Pilates, Mobility, Stretching, Breathwork, Meditation, and Recovery programs.
- Assess guests’ fitness levels, health conditions, mobility, and personal goals to tailor safe, effective, and engaging wellness experiences.
- Provide one-on-one personal training, professional fitness guidance, and post-session recommendations to support guests’ long-term wellness goals.
- Maintain an active presence in the Fitness Center, Pilates Studio, and Yoga Pavilion, assisting guests with equipment use while ensuring exceptional service and safety.
- Keep wellness facilities, equipment, changing rooms, and amenities clean, safe, fully operational, and maintained to Aman Spa standards.
- Prepare and coordinate the weekly Wellness Activity Schedule, communicate with relevant departments, and maintain accurate guest preferences, activity records, and operational reports.
- Support daily Spa operations, including opening and closing procedures, facility inspections, inventory control, equipment maintenance, and coordination with Spa Reception and Therapists.
- Promote and upsell personal training, wellness classes, spa treatments, and retail products to enhance guest experiences and maximize departmental revenue.
- Monitor guest feedback, identify service-improvement opportunities, participate in training, and support teamwork to maintain consistent luxury wellness standards.
- Assist Spa Management with administrative duties, expense control, operational compliance, and other responsibilities assigned by the Spa Manager or Resort Management.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Fitness Instruction, Personal Training, Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field.
- Professional certification in Personal Training, Functional Fitness, Pilates, Yoga, or other wellness disciplines is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of exercise techniques, anatomy, injury prevention, and fitness equipment safety.
- Ability to deliver diverse fitness classes and adapt programs to different fitness levels and guest needs.
- Good command of English, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Guest-oriented mindset, professional grooming, positive attitude, and passion for holistic wellness.
- Flexible, proactive, and willing to support Spa operations and cross-functional responsibilities.
Skills
Experience
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a luxury resort, spa, or wellness environment.
Education
Diploma or certification in Fitness Instruction, Personal Training, Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field.
