Janu Tokyo seeks an experienced Duty Manager to lead daily Front Desk operations, coordinate hotel departments and guide the front desk team while maintaining elevated service standards and guest satisfaction. The role is full-time and includes shift scheduling, staffing oversight, emergency response and support for service and operational improvements.
Role & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily Front Desk operations, including check-in, check-out, guest services and service flow, in accordance with Janu standards.
- Lead hotel operations during assigned shifts and coordinate activities between departments.
- Support, mentor and supervise the Front Desk team to sustain service quality, productivity and guest satisfaction.
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests, feedback and complaints professionally and resolve them effectively.
- Ensure accurate cash handling and billing, and compliance with hotel policies.
- Assist with training, coaching and performance development for Front Desk agents, supervisors and shift leaders.
- Oversee shift scheduling, basic labour management and daily staffing adjustments.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping, Engineering, Food and Beverage and other departments to maintain operational harmony and timely guest service.
- Respond to emergencies and safeguard guest and staff safety in accordance with hotel protocols.
- Support the implementation of service initiatives, guest experience enhancements and operational improvements.
Qualifications
- At least 6 years of practical experience as a front desk agent or in a similar role.
- At least 3 years of practical experience in a luxury hotel environment.
- Practical experience as a duty manager.
- Practical experience as a sub-leader, such as a supervisor or team leader.
- Basic knowledge of labour management and practical experience in shift scheduling.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Advanced business-level English proficiency (CEFR C1 or higher).
- Advanced business-level Japanese proficiency (CEFR C1 or higher).
- Advanced operational skills with hotel systems such as Opera, HotSOS and Alice.
- Candidates with exceptional experience or skills may be considered even if they do not meet every requirement.
