Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the engineering team, including workload assessment, resource allocation, and operational direction
- Implement and maintain a planned preventative maintenance programme for all resort systems and infrastructure
- Oversee corrective and planned maintenance work orders, ensuring completion to quality and time specifications
- Develop, monitor, and optimize annual OPEX budgets and five-year CAPEX plans for asset replacement and facility development
- Implement Aman Engineering standards across the resort and ensure full legal compliance with all building code and safety regulations
- Monitor compliance with Aman Fire Systems Preventative Maintenance Policy and execute remedial actions as necessary
- Appoint and oversee external contractors, monitoring performance and service quality standards
- Commission and manage structural integrity surveys on a periodic and ad-hoc basis
- Maintain the resort's maintenance management system (MMS) and generate regular and ad-hoc reports for management
- Develop, implement, and monitor Health & Safety Standard Operating Procedures
- Participate in resort projects and act as local liaison with Aman Technical Services
- Monitor energy and water management programmes to optimize utility efficiency
- Submit monthly reports to Corporate Engineering and provide strategic engineering guidance to the executive team
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Building Management, or minimum 10 years' equivalent experience in a comparable position
- Demonstrated experience as Director, Chief Engineer, or Maintenance Manager in a luxury hospitality environment, preferably within the hotel industry
- Recognized authority in mechanical and electrical engineering systems, particularly HVAC, ventilation, refrigeration, and related components
- Fluent in English; additional languages desirable
- Proficiency with Property Management Systems, Energy Management Systems, and standard computer applications
- Comprehensive knowledge of building code requirements, fire safety systems, and life safety programmes
- Experience in annual maintenance budget preparation and capital expenditure planning
Skills
Experience
Minimum 10 years in engineering or facilities management roles within a luxury hospitality setting. Prior experience as Director or Chief Engineer in a hotel or ultra-luxury resort environment is essential. Proven track record in managing large-scale facilities, overseeing maintenance teams, and implementing engineering standards in a service-oriented industry.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Building Management. Equivalent professional certification or 10+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal degree.
