Alaia seeks a Production Purchasing Assistant (Apprenticeship) in Paris to support sourcing and production buying for the maison.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the production buying team in day-to-day procurement tasks for fabrics, trims and components.
- Raise and follow up purchase orders; track deliveries and escalate potential delays to production planners and suppliers.
- Coordinate with internal teams (design, production, quality) to ensure material specifications and lead times are respected.
- Maintain supplier dossiers and update procurement records, cost sheets and delivery schedules.
- Assist with supplier sourcing and quotations, comparing costs and lead times to support buying decisions.
- Prepare administrative documentation for orders, customs and transport as required.
- Contribute to month-end reporting on open orders, incoming shipments and budget adherence.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme in purchasing, supply chain, fashion business, or a related discipline (alternance/apprenticeship track).
- Practical understanding of sourcing and production processes within apparel or luxury goods.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and an ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
- Good numerical skills and an aptitude for cost analysis.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a professional approach to supplier relations; ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
- Strong proficiency in French expected; professional English is an advantage.

Previous internships or work experience in buying, procurement or production within fashion or luxury apparel is preferred but not mandatory for candidates entering an alternance programme.
Education
Enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate programme (purchasing, supply chain, fashion business, or equivalent) qualifying for an alternance/apprenticeship.
