Alaia in Paris seeks a Patternmaker (Lectra) to develop couture-ready patterns and production files for the atelier.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and digitize patterns using Lectra CAD systems and produce accurate paper and digital pattern files for prototypes and production.
- Translate designer sketches and collection specifications into tested patterns and technical dossiers suitable for couture and ready-to-wear execution.
- Conduct marker making, grading and nesting to optimize fabric usage and prepare production-ready files.
- Support fitting sessions and adjust patterns in response to fit findings; work closely with sample makers, cutters and ateliers to finalize prototypes.
- Maintain and archive pattern libraries, version control and technical documentation; ensure compliance with quality and construction standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience producing patterns for luxury apparel; demonstrated competence with Lectra CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric behavior and couture finishing techniques.
- Ability to interpret designer intent and deliver precise technical specifications under tight collection deadlines.
- Attention to detail, excellent hand-drafting skills and a methodical approach to grading and marker making.
- Organised, collaborative and able to communicate technical requirements to ateliers and production partners.

Experience
Minimum 3 years' professional experience in patternmaking within luxury or high-end fashion, with direct use of Lectra CAD systems and involvement in sample room/fitting processes.
Education
Diploma or vocational qualification in patternmaking, fashion technology, garment engineering or equivalent hands-on training.
