Aesop seeks a Seasonal Retail Consultant in Washington, DC, to deliver personalized skincare and fragrance consultations, product demonstrations, and polished retail operations. This part-time contract ends January 16, 2027; candidates must be available November 1 through January 16, with no vacation during that period, and must have full availability on specific weekends.
Role & Responsibilities
- Connect with customers through storytelling, understand their needs, and recommend products suited to their lives.
- Create a personalized customer journey, from a warm welcome and genuine engagement to product demonstrations and regimen building.
- Guide customers to the sink or fragrance area and demonstrate recommended products on their hands.
- Deliver attentive service, offer complete regimens and samples, and invite customers to return.
- Represent Aesop’s values and seek support for continuous improvement.
- Follow grooming guidelines and retail standards to consistently deliver the five-senses experience.
- Complete stock, inventory, and store presentation tasks.
Qualifications
- Experience working successfully as part of a customer-focused team, ideally in retail or hospitality, with attention to detail in selling and delivering tailored experiences.
- A merchant mindset that is customer-focused and commercially driven.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in tactile product demonstrations.
- A strong interest in selling premium products and enthusiasm for Aesop’s skincare and fragrance offerings.
- Ability to work on the sales floor for extended periods, use stairs and/or a ladder as needed, and regularly lift up to 25 lbs.
- Flexible availability, including weekends; full availability is required on specific weekend dates.
- Availability from November 1 through January 16, 2027; vacation cannot be accommodated during this period.
