Aesop is hiring a Seasonal Retail Consultant in San Jose on a part-time contract ending January 16, 2027. Candidates must be available from November 1 through January 16, 2027, with no vacation during that period, and fully available on designated weekends; the role requires flexible availability and weekend work.
Role & Responsibilities
- Connect with customers through storytelling, understand their needs, and position products within their lives.
- Create a personalized customer journey, from a warm welcome and genuine engagement to product demonstrations and regimen building.
- Guide customers to the sink or fragrance area and demonstrate recommended products on their hands.
- Deliver attentive service, offer complete regimens and samples, and conclude interactions with a warm invitation to return.
- Represent Aesop’s values and seek support for continuous improvement.
- Follow Aesop’s grooming guidelines and retail standards to deliver a consistent five-senses experience.
- Complete stock, inventory, and store presentation tasks.
Qualifications
- Experience working successfully as part of a customer-focused team, ideally in retail or hospitality, with attention to detail in selling and delivering tailored experiences.
- Customer-focused and commercially driven merchant mindset.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in tactile product demonstrations.
- Passion for selling premium products and enthusiasm for Aesop’s skincare and fragrance offerings.
- Ability to work on the sales floor for extended periods, use stairs and/or a ladder as needed, and regularly lift up to 25 lbs.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis; immigration support or sponsorship is not offered.
