Aesop is seeking a Seasonal Retail Consultant in Austin to introduce and sell skincare and fragrance through personalized customer experiences, product demonstrations, and regimen recommendations. This part-time contract role ends January 16, 2027; candidates must be available November 1 through January 16, with no vacation during that period and full availability on specific weekends. Flexible availability and weekend work are required.
Role & Responsibilities
- Connect with customers through storytelling, understand their needs, and introduce products in a way that resonates with them.
- Create a personalized customer journey, from a warm welcome and genuine engagement to product demonstrations and regimen building.
- Guide customers to the sink or fragrance area and demonstrate recommended products on their hands.
- Provide attentive service, recommend full regimens and samples, create a memorable departure, and invite customers to return.
- Embody Aesop’s values and seek support for continuous improvement.
- Follow Aesop’s grooming guidelines and retail standards to deliver a consistent five-senses experience.
- Complete stock, inventory, and store-presentation tasks diligently.
Qualifications
- Experience working successfully as part of a customer-focused team, ideally in retail or hospitality, with attention to detail in selling and delivering tailored experiences.
- Customer-focused and commercially driven merchant mindset.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in tactile product demonstrations.
- Passion for selling premium products and enthusiasm for Aesop’s skincare and fragrance offerings.
- Ability to work on the sales floor for extended periods, use stairs and/or a ladder as needed, and regularly lift up to 25 lb.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis; immigration support or sponsorship is not offered.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, with full availability required on specific weekend dates.
- Availability from November 1 through January 16, 2027; vacation cannot be accommodated during this period.
