The Retail Business Manager leads a portfolio of stores for Aesop, driving brand standards, commercial performance, customer experience, inventory management, and team development while partnering with head office and cross-functional teams. The role is full-time.
Role & Responsibilities
- Uphold and demonstrate Aesop’s brand identity and values.
- Drive excellence in store environments, product presentation, and team presentation across the portfolio.
- Partner with Marketing and Visual Merchandising and recommend actions to deliver the brand strategy.
- Stay informed about Aesop’s market positioning, share insights, and propose appropriate actions across the portfolio.
- Serve as a conduit between head office and retail, cascading communications effectively and promptly.
- Plan and conduct regular, purposeful store visits.
- Consider environmental, local-community, and commercial outcomes in business decisions.
- Optimize inventory management, proactively seize opportunities, and mitigate risk.
- Uphold compliance and integrate it into personal and team workflows.
- Prioritize the customer in decision-making.
- Drive productivity and customer outcomes through diligent management of portfolio scheduling.
- Partner with Training and Performance to develop team capability in line with portfolio and business goals.
- Hold self and others accountable for consistently delivering a positive customer experience.
- Analyze customer feedback and insights from a customer perspective, taking action to enhance the experience across the portfolio.
- Deliver portfolio goals and targets.
- Integrate observation, review, and analysis of portfolio and team performance into daily workflows.
- Lead proactive self and team development through training, coaching, and feedback.
- Manage portfolio recruitment and build dynamic portfolio development and succession plans.
- Act promptly to recover performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above.
- At least 10 years of experience in retail or the customer service industry.
- More than 3 years of multi-store management experience.
