The Counter Manager leads the Aesop counter at Magasin du Nord in Copenhagen, reporting to the Market Lead and spending 80% of the working week on the shop floor. The permanent, full-time role combines commercial planning and KPI delivery with team coaching, customer experience, recruitment, and retail standards.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define SMART quarterly goals in collaboration with the Retail Business Manager, develop monthly commercial plans, and track KPIs to exceed targets.
- Lead daily briefings to align the team on priorities and targets, share feedback and updates, and foster high performance.
- Spend 80% of the working week on the shop floor observing and coaching the team, and partnering on talent succession plans to promote growth and retention.
- Model excellence in delivering the Aesop customer experience and analyse Voice of the Customer data to improve in-store client interactions.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Visual Merchandising, and fellow Store Managers to execute tactical campaigns, integrate new products, and uphold retail standards.
- Participate in Retail Consultant recruitment, sign off on inductions, and uphold Aesop's five-senses experience.
Qualifications
- Proven experience successfully leading and motivating a team in a customer- and sales-focused retail or hospitality environment.
- Excellent commercial acumen, with the ability to define, model, and monitor behaviours that achieve sales targets and KPIs.
- A natural ability to lead the creative art of selling through exceptional conversations and cross-category sales.
- Accomplished coaching and feedback skills, with the ability to build teams that drive employee and customer retention.
- Ability to run efficient store operations and uphold retail standards.
- Professional working proficiency in Danish and English.
