The Neverfull has a wonderfully optimistic name. I would still suggest looking inside before promising that it can accommodate the rest of the day. Its more interesting feature is visible from the outside: the side cords draw the broad opening inward, changing the outline of a straightforward tote.
Louis Vuitton’s Neverfull collection gives that familiar arrangement different materials and expressions. The blue-and-white Knokke edition pictured here gives the familiar tote a seaside address. Beside the drawstring Noé, the tote makes a less enclosed proposition. Both let the person carrying them participate in the final shape.
That combination of recognition and ordinary usefulness earns its place here. In Paris, or anywhere its retail advisors work, the demonstration can be quite simple: open it, adjust it, put it on a shoulder. An icon need not require complicated instructions. The flat-top trunk would take a little more arranging.
