Must-know Blancpain Facts

All applicants ought to know these basics about Blancpain before applying or interviewing for any role.

Founded in 1735 in Switzerland, Blancpain presents itself as the world’s oldest watch brand, giving employees a rare link to nearly three centuries of horological heritage.
Blancpain is known for its high-complication and artisanal approach to watchmaking, so careers there tend to sit close to traditional métiers such as movement assembly, decoration, and fine finishing rather than volume-driven production.
The brand’s Fifty Fathoms, launched in 1953, is one of the foundational modern dive watches, making Blancpain especially appealing to candidates interested in product storytelling rooted in genuine technical history rather than marketing mythology.
Blancpain is part of the Swatch Group, which can offer employees the stability of a major luxury conglomerate while preserving the culture of a small, specialist manufacture.
Unlike sport-luxury brands that emphasize celebrity visibility, Blancpain has long cultivated a quieter, connoisseur-led identity closer in spirit to maisons such as Breguet and Jaeger LeCoultre.
Blancpain’s long-standing motto, “Innovation is our tradition,” reflects a workplace ethos that values both heritage preservation and ongoing technical development in mechanical watchmaking.
