Must-know Aramis Facts

All applicants ought to know these basics about Aramis before applying or interviewing for any role.

Launched in 1964 by Estée Lauder Companies, Aramis is widely regarded as one of the first prestige men’s fragrances sold through department stores in the United States.
The original Aramis scent, created by perfumer Bernard Chant, helped define the classic masculine leather-chypre style and remains a reference point for heritage fragrance storytelling.
Aramis was named after the elegant musketeer in Alexandre Dumas’ The Three Musketeers, giving the brand a built-in association with refinement, confidence, and old-world gallantry.
The brand expanded beyond its signature cologne into grooming, aftershave, and bath products, making it an early example of a complete luxury men’s care wardrobe.
Aramis’ corporate legacy is closely linked to Lab Series, the men’s skincare brand that originated from the Aramis business within Estée Lauder.
For job seekers, Aramis offers a window into how heritage fragrance brands balance timeless formulas, department-store prestige, and modern men’s grooming expectations.
